Swimming Pools: Above Ground or Underground?

When temperatures begin to rise, many people think of how lovely and fun it is to have a swimming pool. Not only does a swimming pool provide a refreshing way to spend one’s leisure time, but it also provides a good place for swimming; an activity that gives a person a full body workout with just little impact on the joints and bones.

There are many things to consider when deciding to have a swimming pool in your property and one of those things is to decide whether you will have an underground swimming pool or an above ground swimming pool. Both under ground and above ground swimming pools have their share of advantages and disadvantages, and such pros and cons must be weighed appropriately in order to make a good choice.

Above ground swimming pools are quite cheaper than underground pools because they do not require underground plumbing and excavation. They are also prefabricated. However, the sides of the swimming pool, which are visible, are usually not very flattering. It also doesn’t add much value to the property. Underground swimming pools on the other hand, can be heavy on the wallet, but it adds more to the aesthetics and value of the property.
